BIKE LOVE <3
For those of you who don’t know Door County Wisconsin is one of the most beautiful places to vacation in the state. It’s where Cape Cod meets the north woods. The tourist population flourishes in the summer in the land of cherries, but it’s worth the amazing weather and lakeside sunsets.
Here’s a small sample of some of the shots I got in on my vacation. I plan (once again) at Peninsula State Park in the fall. Hopefully I can get there for the changing of the leaves. Even if I don’t there’s still plenty beautiful shots just waiting to happen.
I spent last Saturday at my Grandmother’s 75th birthday party. Most of my shots were your standard family pictures that weren’t very artsy or all that interesting. At one point my uncle James sat down at a piano in the community center where the party was and started playing.
I decided to go over and try to capture the mood a little bit. He had been going through some rough times lately and for most of us in the family playing music is very cathartic.
The motion blur came out nicely and I’m happy with how it showcases a little nook of time that happened while the rest of the chaos was happening elsewhere. My grandma had 11 children all of which are still alive so you can imagine how many cousins and great grandchildren there were at the celebration…A LOT.
I just wanted to post up a little preview of Connie & Jason’s photos I’ve been working on. The first location we used was Olbrich Gardens in Madison, WI.
Olbrich is a pretty great place to use because of the diversity of the location. A word to the wise though: If you’re going to be taking “professional” style photos i.e. engagement photos, etc..you have to fill out paperwork and pay a $25 fee.
I’ve taken tons of photos in there before, but never of people in a set spot so I wasn’t aware of this. I had never been asked to pay before. I guess if it helps keep the gardens open I don’t mind.
I’ll be going through and editing shots from the second location we used over the weekend and I’ll be sure to post a little something, something from that.
Just Coffee is a Madison, WI staple. They are hard working folks who try to build relationships with coffee growers all over the world. Just Coffee create the best fair trade blends around.
They are also willing to make custom blends for almost anyone who wants to sell their own little version of coffee. Just design a label and they do the rest.
I took this photo a few weeks back at one of the many protests we’ve had here in Madison. Just Coffee was one of the first businesses to come out and support protesters, fueling with delicious, fresh coffee. Thank you Just Coffee!
Welcome to my personal Tumblr! I’ve decided to dedicate this page mostly to my photographic work. I may add some graphic design projects and other little tidbits on the equipment I use to get the job done.
I also do live sound and keep a Tumblr dedicated to that under the name Level Sound Productions. I’m a creative person who likes to explore many avenues of expressing one’s self and find that it helps to be so versatile.
I consider this page to be portfolio of my current work and maybe even a time line of how my work has/will evolve with experience.
Thank you for stopping by the page and I hope you like what you see!
